What is a Secure Form?

When you complete and send a form on this website it will be using a standard called Secure Sockets Layer (SSL). Secure Sockets Layer is an open standard for an encrypted communications channel. This helps prevent the interception of critical information such as credit card numbers or your personal details. The primary purpose of Secure Sockets Layer is to enable security-enhanced electronic communication on the World Wide Web.

What Does This Mean to You?

We use strong 128 bit encryption. This ensures that when you transmit your data to CVIC it is safe, private, and is delivered to CVIC only. Note that if you have an older browser that only supports 40 bit encryption your information will still be encrypted and sent to CVIC. SSL also uses Server Authentication to be sure your message is delivered to the intended recipient.

You might notice that when you send a form to us it seems to go to a different address. This is because your form is sent to us using our account number rather than our URL. This allows us to take advantage of our server's SSL certificate.

You can feel safe when you send us your form.

If you would like to learn more about Secure Socket Layer visit this page at Netscape, the inventor of SSL.
